Bh2 LEISURE ANNOUNCES CHARITY OF THE YEAR
Bee Mission a Bournemouth based charity, has been selected as Bh2 Leisure’s inaugural charity partner for 2026/2027.
Bee Mission is a Community Interest Company (CIC) on a mission to help bees across the south of England and to improve the lives of people experiencing homelessness in Bournemouth.
Launched in 2019 by local businessman Chris Bialan, Bee Mission’s first mission is to build and install 500 beehives across the south of England. As primary pollinators, honeybees play a crucial role in plant reproduction and food production. British bee populations are declining rapidly due to pesticides, parasites, disease and habitat loss, and that's why Bee Mission is building beehives and creating habitats for our very important bees.
The second mission is to continue cooking hot, healthy, homemade meals to deliver to the people living on the streets in Bournemouth, Dorset, which the Bee Mission team have been doing since 2019. Led by Amy Foster, the Bee Mission team deliver up to 50 meals, three times a week, every week which equates to a staggering 31,200 meals per year!
The new partnership will provide several benefits for the charity throughout the year, from May 2026 to March 2027. Benefits include social media and digital support and on-site advertising opportunities, and more - all free of charge.
Bryan Taylor, Bh2 Leisure Centre Manager, said, “We were delighted to launch our Charity of the Year initiative, and crown Bee Mission as our partner for 2026/27.
Bee Mission will benefit from enhanced visibility and fundraising opportunities. We will continue to work with other charities throughout the year, but we have launched this new initiative to prioritise one charity to receive our dedicated time and enhanced benefits.
We were blown away by the charity’s enthusiasm and passion, and we have huge respect for everything they do in the community.
Alongside supporting the homeless in Bournemouth, Bee Mission provides training opportunities to help individuals develop new skills and progress in life.
Amy Foster, Aunty Bee from Bee Mission, said. “We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as Bh2 Leisure’s first-ever Charity of the Year. This partnership comes at a vital time for us as we continue to scale up our beehive installations and maintain our commitment to providing thousands of hot meals to those living on the streets in Bournemouth.
“Having the support of such a central hub in the town will be transformative. It’s not just about the increased visibility for our environmental goals, but also about the platform it gives us to highlight the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness in our local community. We are incredibly grateful to Bryan and the whole team at Bh2 for their belief in our mission, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together over the coming year.”
